The couple of weeks have left a good deal of snow on the local mountains. We took a trip up to Castle Rock State Park to get a taste of it.
Last night Katie and I went to the Sharks vs. Oilers game. We were sitting right behind the Edmonton TV (Gene Principe) and Radio (Rod Phillips) guys. I was wearing the Oilers’ 3rd jersey (the oil drop).
After the 2nd intermission when Katie and I returned to our seats, Gene and I started chatting (he asked me, “are you from Edmonton”, “when did you move here”, etc). Then a couple of minutes later he said– “stand up, I may come talk to you”.
All of a sudden the camera guy picked his camera off the tripod, turned it around and pointed it at us, and Gene interviewed Katie and I on TV! He asked about why I was an Oilers fan after all these years, what I liked about the team, etc. Then he said “Hey Rob, I’ll save you a long distance phone call, is there anyone back home you’d like to say hi to?” So I said hi to my sister and brother-in-law. Wild!!
And to top it off, Christine and Richard were watching the game in Edmonton and they saw us on TV!!!!! They have it saved on their PVR.
My 2 minutes of fame, I guess…
