Mexico February 28th, 2008

Mexico2008_005During the kids’ winter break from school, we travelled to the “Mayan Riviera” on Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula. We stayed in a resort with a beautiful beach and a giant swimming pool. Ah ma and Papa came along too.

The highlight of the trip for me was visiting with my friend Dennis and his family. Dennis, Lee-Anne, and Kirsten moved to Mexico 4 years ago to start up a business diving on the reefs and in the caves of the Yucatan. We spent some time swimming in Gran Cenote. Next time, we dive!

You’ll notice that Katie lost her other front tooth… that happened the day before we left. Katie brought her tooth along and left it for the Mexican tooth fairy. The tooth fairy paid Katie in Pesos!

This week, Katie lost her first top front tooth. And last week Jackie got her first real haircut, ever.

Five and a Half February 8th, 2008

Five and a Half!With her real birthday in the summer, we rarely get a chance to hold a full-on party for Amelia. So this year we threw her a Five and a Half Year Old Fake Sleepover Party! It was loud, crazy, fun, and everything that a five and a half year old fake sleepover party should be.
