IMG_0645We went to the beach for spring break this year. Carpinteria State Beach is just north of Ventura, CA. We got sprinkled on a couple of times but otherwise the weather was terrific and we had a great time. I’ve never seen offshore oil platforms before, but I could see 8 from the beach at Carpinteria. As if that wasn’t enough, this trip marked my first skimboarding outing (and injury) for 2009. :-)

There is a very cool seal sanctuary nearby (a “rookery”, for those in the know), I have never seen so many seals in person. After a hard week at work, being a big fat seal laying on a sunny beach seems like a darn fine way to go!

Here are our pictures.

I popped these pictures onto flickr as well. Let me know how that goes.
